Buying mail order from Veggie Guides

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Shopping Cart" (top right) and you will be asked for your address and payment details.

We accept Paypal, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. If you are shopping from outside the United Kingdom, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

If you found us in the PETA mall, please mention this in "How did you find our site" and we will pay a 10% commission to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. If you have a website and would like to receive commission on referral business, please contact us.

Shipping And Handling

In UK first book £2.50, then £1 per book.
Airmail to Europe, surface to rest of world, £3.75 first book, then £1.50 per book.
Airmail to Rest of World, £5 first book, then £2 per book.
(£1 is around US$2 or 1.50 euros)

Delivery Schedule

We will normally process your order within 5 business days. We send airmail to Europe, and your choice of air or surface to the rest of the world. Airmail to Europe takes 3 to 5 days. Surface mail orders to North America may take up to 6 weeks, airmail 5-7 days. Increased security may cause some postal delays in USA. Please be sure to select airmail and NOT surface mail if you are travelling within 2 months. Airmail to Australia is about 7 days, surface up to 12 weeks. These delivery times are taken from www.royalmail.co.uk If you are travelling immediately we can ship to your hotel or quote you for express mail, DHL or Datapost. On request we will email you a few pages of our own books (Britain, France, London, Europe) to help you plan your trip while awaiting delivery.

Back Orders

Our own books (London, France, Britain, Europe, Campaign Against Cruelty) are always in stock. Very occasionally we are out of stock of other books for a few days. If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. We will not debit your credit card until books are ready for shipping.

Tax Charges

All books shipped from the UK are exempt from tax.

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit cards are processed for us by PayPal, the world's largest internet payment processor, and Vegetarian Guides at no times has access to your credit card details.

If you prefer not to give your credit card details over the internet, you can fax or mail your credit card details to us, telephone us (24 hours, if we are closed please leave a message with your order details or suggest a couple of convenient times for us to call you back, or email to ask us to call you). We will process your payment manually then delete your credit card details.

If you would like to order books for resale, please contact us for a quotation and our terms. Bookshops in UK, Ireland and North America please contact our distributors or your usual wholesaler.

Vegetarian Guides do not disclose buyers information to third parties. At a future date we may email you once to ask if you would like to opt in to our email vegetarian travel newsletter. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.
